قامت منظمة اشراقات للتنمية ( IDO) وضمن مشروع ("المرونة المناخية في العراق: تعزيز استراتيجيات التكيف والتخفيف من آثار تغير المناخ") , وبتمويل من السفارة الكندية في العراق الصندوق الكندي للمبادرات المحلية ( FCIL/CFLI ) , وبالتعاون مع مديرية بيئة محافظة المثنى , بتنفيذ ورشتها التدريبية الثامنة بعنوان (الحد من مخاطر الكوارث والتأهب لحالات الطوارئ) للنساء من اسر المزارعين بتاريخ 2 كانون الثاني يناير 2024 , بحضور( 25 امرأة ) وحضور الفريق النسوي للمنظمة وبأدارة المدربة ( رندا محمد عباس ) من مديرية بيئة محافظة المثنى .
تضمنت الورشة عدد من المواضيع حول تعزيز البنية التحتية لتكون مقاومة للمخاطر المناخية والبيئية. وكذلك تعزيز الممارسات الزراعية المستدامة التي تساعد على حماية التربة والمياه والتنوع البيولوجي. من خلال تبني تقنيات المحافظة على الماء والري الفعال وزراعة المحاصيل المناسبة للمناخ وتعزيز الزراعة العضوية.
ونوقشت أيضا حماية الموارد الطبيعية مثل الغابات والمسطحات المائية والتنوع البيولوجي. من خلال إنشاء مناطق محمية وتعزيز ممارسات استدامة إدارة الموارد الطبيعية وتطوير برامج لزراعة الأشجار وإعادة التشجير.
كما اشارت المدربة الى تعزيز التوعية والتثقيف حول التغيرات المناخية والمخاطر البيئية وأهمية التكيف معها. من خلال حملات توعية عامة وتدريب السكان المحليين على كيفية التصرف في حالات الطوارئ وتبادل المعرفة والخبرات بين المجتمعات.
The Ishraqat Development Organization (IDO), within the project (“Climate Resilience in Iraq: Enhancing Adaptation Strategies and Mitigation of the Impacts of Climate Change”), and with funding from the Canadian Embassy in Iraq, the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (FCIL/CFLI), and in cooperation with the Muthanna Governorate Environment Directorate, carried out Implementing its eighth training workshop entitled (Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Preparedness) for women from farmer families on January 2, 2024, in the presence of (25 women) and in the presence of the organization’s women’s team and managed by the trainer (Randa Muhammad Abbas) from the Muthanna Governorate Environment Directorate.
The workshop included a number of topics on strengthening infrastructure to be resistant to climate and environmental risks. As well as promoting sustainable agricultural practices that help protect soil, water and biodiversity. By adopting water conservation techniques, efficient irrigation, growing climate-appropriate crops, and promoting organic agriculture.
The protection of natural resources such as forests, water bodies and biodiversity was also discussed. By creating protected areas, promoting sustainable natural resource management practices and developing tree planting and reforestation programmes.
The trainer also pointed to enhancing awareness and education about climate change and environmental risks and the importance of adapting to them. Through public awareness campaigns, training local residents on how to react in emergency situations, and exchanging knowledge and experiences between communities.
