نفذت منظمة اشراقات للتنمية ( IDO) وبتمويل من السفارة الكندية في العراق الصندوق الكندي للمبادرات المحلية ( FCIL/CFLI ) , وبالتعاون المشترك مع مديرية زراعة محافظة المثنى ومديرية بيئة محافظة المثنى , ورشتها التدريبية الخامسة بعنوان (الحد من مخاطر الكوارث والتأهب لحالات الطوارئ) ضمن مشروع ("المرونة المناخية في العراق: تعزيز استراتيجيات التكيف والتخفيف من آثار تغير المناخ" ) للنساء من اسر المزارعين في ريف شمال قضاء السماوة بتاريخ 25 كانون الأول ديسمبر2023 , بحضور( 25 امرأة ) وحضور الفريق النسوي للمنظمة وبأدارة المدربة ( المهندسة الزراعية بدرية شلاكه ) .
ناقشت المدربة , الأثر المتزايد للتغير المناخي على العراق مثل ارتفاع درجات الحرارة الذي أدى الى انخفاض مستوى المياه وتأثيرات سلبية على الزراعة والنظم البيئية. مما اثر سلباً على الزراعة والصناعة ومياه الشرب وزيادة الصراعات على الموارد المائية.
كذلك تم التطرق الى تحديد المخاطر المناخية التي قد تتسبب في كوارث مناخية محتملة مثل الجفاف والعواصف الترابية. و تحديد الاستجابة والتكيف بهدف تقييم المخاطر عن طريق تحديد الإجراءات الملائمة للتكيف مع المخاطر المناخية والتخفيف من تأثيرها وتعزيز التأهب لحالات الطوارئ والتي من الممكن ان تشمل إقامة أنظمة الإنذار المبكر، وتطوير خطط الطوارئ، وتعزيز البنية التحتية المقاومة للكوارث، وتعزيز الوعي المجتمعي والتثقيف حول التغيرات المناخية والتدابير الوقائية.
The Ishraqat Development Organization (IDO), with funding from the Canadian Embassy in Iraq, the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (FCIL/CFLI), and in joint cooperation with the Muthanna Governorate Agriculture Directorate and the Muthanna Governorate Environment Directorate, implemented its fifth training workshop entitled (Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Preparedness) within the project (“Climate Resilience in Iraq: Strengthening Adaptation Strategies and Mitigating the Effects of Climate Change” for women from farmer families in the northern countryside of Samawa District on December 25, 2023, in the presence of (25 women) in the presence of the organization’s women’s team and managed by the trainer (agricultural engineer Badriya Shalaka)
The trainer discussed the increasing impact of climate change on Iraq, such as rising temperatures, which led to a decrease in water levels and negative impacts on agriculture and ecosystems. Which negatively affected agriculture, industry, drinking water, and increased conflicts over water resources.
It was also addressed to identify climate risks that may cause potential climate disasters such as drought and dust storms. Determine response and adaptation with the aim of assessing risks by identifying appropriate measures to adapt to climate risks and mitigate their impact, and enhancing emergency preparedness, which could include establishing early warning systems, developing emergency plans, strengthening disaster-resistant infrastructure, and enhancing community awareness and education about climate change. And preventive measures.
