نفذت منظمة اشراقات للتنمية ( IDO) وبتمويل من السفارة الكندية في العراق ( الصندوق الكندي للمبادرات المحلية ( FCIL/CFLI ), وبالتعاون مع مديرية زراعة محافظة المثنى تقيم ورشتها التدريبية الرابعة بعنوان (بناء القدرات في مجال الممارسات الزراعية الذكية مناخياً ) ضمن مشروع ("المرونة المناخية في العراق: تعزيز استراتيجيات التكيف والتخفيف من آثار تغير المناخ") لفلاحي قضاءالرميثة منطقة ال بو حسان بتاريخ 13 كانون الأول ديسمبر2023 , بحضور( 25 فلاح ) وبحضور رئيس شعبة زراعة الرميثة ،وكادر المشروع .
كانت الورشة بادارة المهندس الزراعي ميثم محمد كاظم،حيث وضح المدرب ان تزايد الطلب على الغذاء مع شحة الموارد المائية من جهة وزيادة اثار تغير المناخ من جهة أخرى, يعد أحد أكبر التحديات التي يواجهها العراق بشكل عام و محافظة المثنى بشكل خاص . فهناك القليل من الأراضي الصالحة للزراعة. ومع ذلك ، فإن عدد سكان العراق مستمر في الازدياد .
وأشار المدرب الى : ان أساليب مكافحة الحشرات التقليدية والقديمة لم تعد تنفع المزارع ولا الأرض , بسبب تكيف الحشرات مع المناخ , وكذلك ظهور حشرات جديدة اكثر خطورة على التربة
واشاد الحاضرين بدورالجهات المانحة و مديرية الزراعة في المثنى ، حول زيادة الوعي باهمية استخدام الممارسات الذكية للتقليل من اثار التغير المناخي وزيادة رقعة الارض الزراعية بالرغم من التحديات والمعوقات التي تسببت بها شحة المياه وارتفاع درجات الحرارة في الصيف اضافة الى قلة سقوط الامطار شتاءأً .
The Ishraqat Development Organization (IDO), with funding from the Canadian Embassy in Iraq, implemented the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (FCIL/CFLI), and in cooperation with the Muthanna Governorate Agriculture Directorate, held its fourth training workshop entitled (Capacity Building in the Field of Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices) within the “Resilience” project. Climate change in Iraq: Strengthening adaptation strategies and mitigating the effects of climate change” for farmers of the Rumaitha district, Al Bu Hassan area, on December 13, 2023, in the presence of (25 farmers), the head of the Rumaitha Agriculture Division, and the project staff.
The workshop was moderated by agricultural engineer Maitham Muhammad Kazem, where the trainer explained that the increasing demand for food, with the scarcity of water resources on the one hand and the increasing effects of climate change on the other hand, is one of the biggest challenges facing Iraq in general and Muthanna Governorate in particular. There is little arable land. However, the population of Iraq continues to increase.
The trainer pointed out: The traditional and old methods of controlling insects are no longer beneficial to the farmer or the land, due to the adaptation of insects to the climate, as well as the emergence of new insects that are more dangerous to the soil.
The attendees praised the role of donors and the Directorate of Agriculture in Muthanna in raising awareness of the importance of using smart practices to reduce the effects of climate change and increase the area of agricultural land despite the challenges and obstacles caused by water scarcity and high temperatures in the summer, in addition to the lack of rainfall in the winter.
